Traveling to the UK

International travel checklist:

1

PASSPORT
- Your passport must have an expiration date at minimum 6 months out from the date of entry. If your expiration is within 6 months of entering the UK, you will be denied entry.
- Upon arrival, you will use the ePassport gates to get through border security.

2

ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) - £10
- As of 1/1/2025 you will now require an ETA for entry into the UK.
- Once approved, the ETA is valid for 2 years (Most ETA’s are approved within minutes)
- You can apply for the ETA through the UK ETA App on on the government website.

ARRIVAL/TRANSPORTATION:
- Although the wedding is in Clearwell, England, most guests will be staying near Porthcawl, Wales the week prior to the wedding. The venue is about an hour drive from Porthcawl!
- We recommend flying into the London Heathrow International Airport and either taking the train or a coach to your final destination. (If you are comfortable driving in the UK, there are car rental facilities at the airport)
- London Heathrow to Porthcawl, Wales is approximately a 3.5 hour drive.

WHEN SHOULD YOU BUY YOUR AIRFARE?
- Most travel experts recommend buying international airfare 3-4 months before departure for the best rates.
- With that being said, I do want to give full transparency that I (Kailah) will be undergoing my own visa process in April in order to return to the UK for the purpose of marriage. Although this process should take no longer than a month, we are aware of the hiccups that many applications face.
- Once my visa application is approved, we will be sending out official invitations, therefore we recommend booking your airfare when those are received!
